In collaboration with IBI Group, a vision for planning for the urban expansion of the city of Bhubaneswar, the capital of the Indian state of Odisha was developed. The city of Bhubaneswar is located within the Daya Estuary. Haphazard development out of tune with the local geography has caused widespread destruction of property and lives due to flooding.
Bhubaneswar Development Authority (BDA) recognises this problem and plans to prevent this from happening in the future by developing sustainable cities that better manage water and create safer and greener communities.  This proposal which was accepted by BDA, analyses the sensitive topography of the region and proposes high density development around public transportation corridors and allows for the controlled flooding of the landscaped areas and parks in the event of torrential rains
